Meet the Core

Gustavo is an experienced consultant who has held a range of roles in various companies in Spain and Switzerland, mainly within the financial industry. He graduated in mathematics and holds a MSc in Computational Physics. Versatile and results-oriented, Gustavo meets new challenges with enthusiasm and a curious mind.

Martin is a passionate computer scientist who grew up at the foot of Mount Pilatus in Obwalden, central Switzerland. Directly after finishing his CS MSc degree at the ETH Zurich in the area of machine learning and pattern recognition, he started applying his passion in the field of data analysis as an IT Consultant at Insightful Corporation and later as an architect at TIBCO Software Inc. He joined his former Insightful colleagues at Mirai Solutions in 2010 and became a partner in 2011. Unless you find Martin in front of a computer flexing his programming skills, reading CS literature or completing courses on Coursera, you will most likely (not) find him in some remote mountainous place.

Guido is a socio-economic statistician who studied and worked in the Netherlands, Italy and England before finding his final settlement in Zürich where he became a founding partner of Mirai Solutions. During his studies he mainly focused on finding a new approach to the explanation of poverty dynamics and in his MSc on the research of imputation techniques. Later on he applied his experience and customer-focused attitude in the risk management field and in leading consulting projects. Guido has not yet given up playing any kind of ball-related sport and, as a good statistician, he enjoys determining the most significant variables that make a great Italian dish.

Roland is an avid data scientist with extensive expertise in leading technical projects in the areas of financial services and quantitative risk management. With a background in business economics as well as statistical and IT consulting, he is the founding partner of Mirai Solutions - where he is particularly engaged in leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to distill complex business concepts into specialized solutions by harnessing the power of statistical modeling and data analytics. Roland is the enigma with the cappuccino and an aficionado of all things Japanese.

Riccardo’s education and expertise build upon his passion for algorithms and systems modeling. During his professional experience he has embraced with enthusiasm both academic and consulting projects. In his free time Riccardo enjoys skiing and cooking marathons.

In studying economics in his home town of Lausanne, followed by information systems in Zurich, Simon followed his varied interests. He then started his career in the banking industry in the Zurich region, working in diverse projects and companies. Recently, he moved into consulting to satisfy his curiosity about further industries. At Mirai, he relishes the dynamic environment and opportunities to deepen his knowledge of functional programming and data science. Outside of work, Simon enjoys reading about philosophy and history; he also listens to the occasional science-fiction novel.
