This year’s Mirai summer event involved a brunch and a raft building exercise at the scenic Walensee.
We started the day in a relaxed atmosphere having an extended brunch in Zurich. Afterwards, we headed to the scenic Walensee where we split up into three teams, each building a raft made of barrels, logs and ropes. The designs were similar in the end, but the implementation skills varied so one turned out more stable than the other two. However, that was not the decisive factor in the paddling race, which was won by the team with the biggest determination (despite some pending disqualification requests…). There were many splashing attacks using the paddles, which was a welcome refreshment given the beautifully warm and sunny weather. Some people even dared to take a swim despite the low water temperature of ~14°!
