On Tuesday October 23rd, the event “Blockchain – An Enabler Of Risk Management?” organized by the Swiss Risk Association took place.
The hype around blockchain has hit the insurance and reinsurance industries. The Swiss Risk Association has contributed to the dialogue by organizing a blockchain event on Tuesday October 23rd, in the beautiful Aula 2 of University of Zurich.
The event featured Gerhard Lohman (Swiss Re), Chairman of the B3i insurance exchange, and Lars Henneberg, Head of Risk Management (A.P. Møller-Maersk), who shared their experience building two of the most prominent blockchain risk management applications to date.
Both speakers made a point about standardization and automation of data sharing and processes, which triggered Mirai’s curiosity about the speakers’ perception of open source approaches for these purposes. Unfortunately, this is not currently being considered.
