On a crisp Tuesday evening, we set out to Illgau to enjoy a moonlit snowshoe hike.
After an introduction to the region by our guide and a short car ride, we started our hike on a beautiful even plateau, enjoying the sunset. It soon got hillier, and a slope with fresh powder provided a chance for some entertainment!
Through the forest, we made our way to a clearing with a beautiful view of Schwyz. There, our guide treated us to an improvised concert on his “Piccolo Alphorn”: a toy instrument paired with a garden hose. Our own musical efforts were not as successful…
On our way back out of the forest, we found the landscapes transformed by moonlight. A unique sight, perfect to whet our appetite for the fondue dinner that followed!
